This announcement was emailed to faculty and staff on March 14 by Wake Forest Communications and External Relations:

We are saddened to announce that Jesse Haddock, retired coach of the men’s golf team, died today, March 14.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. March 19 in Wait Chapel.  The service will be open to the public.

Coach Haddock spent his career at Wake Forest, joining the staff after graduating in 1952.  He served as coach of the men’s golf team from 1960 until his retirement in 1992.

The Athletics Department announced Coach Haddock’s death on its website today.  The Winston-Salem Journal also published a story online today.

We grieve Coach Haddock’s death and extend our condolences to his family and friends, as well as those at Wake Forest who had the opportunity to know him.
