ZSR Library promotes Tedford, Smith

In August, the Z. Smith Reynolds Library promoted Rosalind (Roz) Tedford to Director of Research and Instruction and Susan Sharpless Smith to Associate Dean.

Roz TedfordTedford graduated from Wake Forest in 1991 with a dual major in English and Psychology. She received an MA in English from Wake Forest in 1994 and an MLIS from UNC-Greensboro in 1998. She began her career at ZSR Library in 1994 and has held progressively responsible positions there, including Information Technology Center Manager, Information Literacy Librarian and, since 2008, Assistant Director for Research and Instruction. Throughout her professional career, Roz has presented on a wide variety of topics at regional and national conferences and currently serves on the Library Instruction Roundtable in the American Library Association.

Susan SmithSmith graduated from University of Maryland at College Park in 1973 with a degree in English. She received an MLIS from UNC-Greensboro in 1993 and an MA in Educational Technology Leadership from George Washington University in 1999. Susan is currently enrolled in the Higher Education PhD program at UNCG. She received the 2008 Association of College and Research Libraries Instruction Section (ACRL IS) Innovation award and was the recipient of UNCG LIS’s 2011 Kovacs Award for Outstanding Alumni Achievement . The third edition of her monograph, Web-Based Instruction: A Guide for Libraries (ALA Editions), was published in 2010.
