Peter Siavelis, associate professor of political science and Director of the Latin American and Latino Studies Program, made a presentation at the Mexican National Senate in August on the causes and consequences of political reform. His presentation was featured in national TV and print media throughout Mexico. He also recently published “What it Takes to Win and What it Takes to Govern: Michelle Bachelet and the Concertación,” in “The Bachelet Government and the Future of Democracy in Chile” (University of Florida Press, 2010, pp. 27 – 49, Sylvia Bortzusky and Greg Weeks, eds.) and “Consecuencias intencionales e involuntarias de la reforma electoral: seis lecciones de Chile,” in “Democracia y reformas políticas en México y América Latina” (UAEM, 2010, pp. 171-198, Igor Vivero, ed.).
