Deborah Nolan selected for distinguished program

Deborah A. Nolan, associate director of the Z. Smith Reynolds Library at Wake Forest University, was recently selected as one of 15 top academic library leaders in the nation to participate in the 2005 UCLA Senior Fellows Program.

Established in 1982 by the UCLA Graduate School of Education & Information Studies, the program has a prestigious reputation among library professionals throughout North America.

As senior fellows, Nolan and her colleagues will participate in an intensive, three-week seminar at UCLA focused on formal study and investigation in the general areas of higher education and information policy.

Nolan began her career at Wake Forest nine years ago as assistant director for administrative services at the Z. Smith Reynolds Library. She served as acting director of the library from July 2003 to August 2004, after which she was promoted to her current position.

Nolan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, and a Master of Library Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She is pursuing a doctorate degree in higher education administration at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
