Corbett, Morgan to begin new roles in legal department

Two members of the Legal Department at Wake Forest University will begin new roles on July 1.

Wake Forest has named J. Reid Morgan as general counsel. Morgan, who will oversee management of the Legal Department, has been university counsel. He will continue as assistant secretary of the university.

Leon Corbett will move to the role of senior counsel. Corbett has been vice president and counsel. In his new position, Corbett will continue as secretary of the university.

Morgan, who received a bachelor’s and a law degree at Wake Forest, has held various staff positions since joining the university in 1979. He was born in Monroe.

Corbett, who earned a bachelor’s and a law degree at Wake Forest, joined the university in 1968. He has held various positions in the School of Law and in the university’s administration. Early in his career, Corbett, a Burgaw native, served in the U.S. Army, was in private practice, and served as a staff member in the state attorney general’s office.
