Pearson Named to National Research Council Committee

The National Research Council has appointed Willie J. Pearson Jr., a sociology professor at Wake Forest University, to its Committee on Foundations of Educational and Psychological Assessment.

The committee is part of the council’s Commission on Behavioral and Social Sciences and Education. Pearson’s two-year term expires Sept. 30, 2000.

Pearson joined the Wake Forest faculty in 1980. He received a doctorate degree in sociology at Southern Illinois University after earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in sociology at Wiley College and Atlanta University.
