The Information Systems Support Center in Reynolda Hall has extended its weekend hours to meet increased demand for computer support.

The center’s new Saturday hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. It had been open from noon to 5 p.m. The center is also open 4 p.m. to midnight on Sunday. With the new, extended hours, the center replaces more limited service that had been available in Room 203 of the Z. Smith Reynolds Library on Saturdays and Sundays. Room 203 is now a computer lab.

The center’s weekday hours remain 8 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.

“All the phone and walk-in support will be in Reynolda,” said Lynda Goff, support services manager. “We decided to extend the hours because a lot of faculty, staff and students work on Saturday. Overall, we are a lot busier this year than we were last year so this is a pro-active move to provide even more access and a single point of contact for help.”

The center, in Room 17-B of Reynolda Hall at the east entrance of the Reynolda cafeteria, is also now the sole site for ThinkPad service. Some loaner ThinkPads are available at the center for those whose model 360XD and 365XD Thinkpads require repairs.

For upperclassmen and students who have computers other than IBM Thinkpads and IBM Desktops sold on campus, the University Stores Service Center provides support on a fee basis. The service center is in Poteat Residence Hall.
