A message from the Wake Forest Staff Advisory Council

The annual Staff Appreciation Picnic will be held on Thursday, May 30, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Sutton Center.

The picnic, hosted by the Staff Advisory Council (SAC), celebrates the hard work and dedication of staff across campus. Colleagues can expect food stations, games, a photo booth, karaoke, and more. President Wente will be in attendance at noon to meet and talk with attendees.

Shuttles will be operating from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on a continuous loop from the University Corporate Center (UCC), Wake Downtown and Graylyn.

SAC is proud to sponsor a Pro-Humanitate project benefiting Ibraham Elementary.

Ibraham Elementary holds a special place in our community as a Title I school, where every child receives free breakfast and lunch daily. For many of these students, the weekend means going home with a backpack of food, highlighting the pressing need they face. Recognizing this, Ibraham is one of the few schools in the county with a full-time dedicated social worker and nurse on staff, providing essential support to its students.

Wake Forest’s relationship with Ibraham extends beyond this Pro-Humanitate initiative. Partnering with the WFU athletics, the University has welcomed their students with open arms, ensuring they feel supported from day one. Many of these students are also recipients of Santa’s Helpers, further emphasizing the impact we can make through our collective efforts.

Here’s how you can contribute:

Donate to Ibraham’s ‘clothes closet’ at the picnic:  Items needed include new or clean and gently-used girls’ leggings (Sizes 5-12), short-sleeve shirts (for both boys and girls), long-sleeve shirts (for both boys and girls), size small boys’ underwear, and socks.

or

Use Ibraham’s Amazon Wishlist to choose an item to bring to the picnic. If you’re unable to attend, consider purchasing an item and sending it directly to: Ibraham Elementary School, 5036 Old Walkertown Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27105.

We look forward to strengthening the bond between WFU and Ibraham Elementary through our commitment to Pro-Humanitate. Your support can truly make a difference in the lives of these young learners.
