Flu shots to be given this week at Human Resources Annex

The Office of Human Resources emailed this announcement to faculty and staff on Jan. 30:

Due to the severity of the flu epidemic this season, we are offering another round of flu shots to faculty, staff, spouses, partners, dependent children (at least nine years old), and retirees. This is for individuals who have not yet had the flu shot this season, as there is no added health benefit to receiving a second vaccine.

Flu shots will be offered in the Human Resources Annex, 2596B Reynolda Road, this week, at the following dates and times:

• Thursday, February 1, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
• Friday, February 2, 8:00 a.m. – Noon

You do not need to register for the flu shot; simply bring your Deacon OneCard to the HR Annex during the times listed above.

In addition to receiving your vaccine, the following tips can help prevent spreading the flu:

• Wash your hands often with soap and water.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
• If you are sick, avoid close contact with others.
