Brandon Gilliland, vice president for finance, will be leaving Wake Forest in December to become University of Miami’s chief financial officer.

Gilliland joined Wake Forest as controller in 2007.  He was promoted to vice president for finance in 2016.

“We will miss Brandon, but wish him well at the University of Miami,” said Executive Vice President Hof Milam. “He has been a good partner to me and many others on campus.”

Milam said Gilliland “has shouldered a lot of responsibility during his years at Wake Forest and has done so thoughtfully and adeptly.”

When he was named vice president at Wake Forest last year, it was announced that his promotion was in recognition of increased responsibilities that included leadership over procurement, finance systems, investments and debt management, campus financial services and risk management.

Expressing confidence in the Office of Financial Services, Milam added that Gilliland “leaves behind a strong supporting team that can see us through until a successor is named.”

Milam said a search will begin immediately for Gilliland’s successor.
