BCBSNC upgrades main operating system

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, the Wake Forest Medical Plan provider, will be upgrading its claims and reporting system to better serve its members. The upgrade will take place Feb. 14 – 18 (beginning 4 p.m. Thursday), and customer interactions will be limited during this time.
Member Call Centers: Call centers will close Thursday, Feb. 14 at 4 p.m. and re-open Tuesday, Feb. 19.
- All callers will hear a message that will include prompts for urgent issues related to appeals and certifications.
- Non-urgent member issues will not be addressed during this time.
Member Services (bcbsnc.com): Members will not be able to sign in to their online accounts beginning Thursday, Feb. 14, at 4 p.m.; access will be restored on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
