Locklair has work performed in Paris

Dan Locklair, composer-in-residence and professor of music, had one of his works performed in recital at The Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris, France, on Oct. 3. The central movement, Aria, of his suite for organ, Glory and Peace, was performed by organist Franck Shelton. See the Notre Dame program. Also, Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg, Va., presented “An Evening of Music by Dan Locklair” recently. His 2009 composition, “Arise in Beauty,” commissioned by the church, had its world premiere. His works were performed by the choirs of Bruton Parish, Brass Quartet, Flute, Organ & Percussion. His composition, “Glory and Peace” (2008), was performed by organist Thomas Murray at Yale University. Hear excerpts.
