Campus Recreation to hold open forums on Reynolds Gym

Construction continues on phase two of the Reynolds Gym renovation project on Thursday, September 15, 2016.

Construction continues on Reynolds Gym.

The Staff Advisory Council (SAC) and Student Government are sponsoring two open forums Sept. 27 on the extensive renovation of Reynolds Gym.  Students, faculty and staff are invited to both forums on the long-term project known as the Reynolds Gym Transformation.

Organized by Campus Recreation, both forums will be held in Pugh Auditorium, located on the second level of Benson University Center.  The forum sponsored by the SAC will be held at 12 noon.  The Student Government-sponsored forum will be held at 5 p.m.

Architects and University staff will share blueprints and architectural renderings of the Reynolds Gym project, as well as operation plans for the gym once it reopens.

The transformation will bring about extensive changes to the facility, including significant space for fitness/weight training, new locker rooms, an expanded indoor pool, new group exercise areas, an improved Varsity Gym, some classrooms and much more.

The first phase of the transformation was completed with the opening of the Sutton Center, previously.
