Zhu appointed assistant dean for global initiatives in Graduate School

Chaowei Zhu has been appointed assistant dean for global initiatives in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

Zhu, whose appointment was effective Jan. 1, joined the Graduate School in 2015.

He serves as co-director of the Chinese tracks in the Interpreting and Translation Studies Program in the school.  Zhu is also an assistant teaching professor.

“It is a privilege to be part of the leadership team at the Graduate School,” said Zhu. “I have expertise in both business administration and higher education and I look forward to applying my knowledge and experience to advance the Graduate School’s strategic goals and fulfill its educational mission.”

He added that he is “most excited about promoting the Graduate School to attract more talented and diverse students, and looking forward to forging new relationships with many prestigious universities around the world.”

Zhu earned his MBA and doctorate from Renmin Business School at Renmin University of China in Beijing.  At Wake Forest, he earned a master’s in intercultural studies in health care.
