Annual Benefits Enrollment period ends Oct. 29

This message is shared on behalf of Wake Forest University Human Resources.

The final day to enroll for benefits or to elect a Flexible Spending Account for the 2021 plan year is this Friday, October 29. If you have not already enrolled, please take a few minutes to do so. You will need to enroll if you are changing benefit elections, adding or removing a dependent(s), and/or planning to participate in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA). If you do not enroll, your current benefit elections and dependent(s) will remain the same, with the exception of FSA elections. FSA elections do not automatically renew from one year to the next, and require active enrollment from you each plan year.

Annual Benefits Enrollment for benefits-eligible faculty and staff takes place today through October 29. You will need to enroll via Workday if you are

  • changing benefit elections,
  • adding or removing a dependent(s), and/or
  • planning to participate in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA).

Wake Alert: Receive text alerts

As a reminder, the Wake Alert website is the primary information sources during an emergency at Wake Forest. Faculty and staff colleagues are also encouraged to follow alerts on Twitter and Facebook, and confirm their mobile number is updates in Workday to receive text alerts.

On Oct. 22, President Hatch announced the decision to move the campus to Orange Operating Status – Modified Campus Operations. This decision comes after a thorough analysis of recent trends in positive COVID-19 cases in our community.

  • Celebrating the holidays safely

As we kick off the holiday season with Halloween this weekend, be vigilant about wearing masks in all situations outside of your household bubble. If you’re eating or drinking and need to remove your mask, do it outdoors and at a distance. Dr. Chris Ohl explained that small gatherings in homes and at work, often with food, are at the center of the recent outbreak. Call the clinic at 743.223.4217 with any questions about how to travel and celebrate safely this holiday season.

  • COVID Opportunities move to Workday

Non-exempt staff who are currently furloughed or working reduced hours can now apply for a part-time COVID Opportunity via the Workday Internal Career Portal.

Benefits Enrollment ends Oct. 31

Annual Benefits Enrollment for 2020 elections will take place in Workday Oct. 19-31 with benefits effective Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 2021. The last day to receive one-on-one enrollment assistance from Wake Forest Human Resources is this Friday, Oct. 30.

Individuals need to enroll if changing benefit elections, adding or removing a dependent(s), or planning to participate in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA). FSA elections do not automatically renew from one year to the next. They require active enrollment each plan year.
