More than 75 people attended the session, which highlighted their experience in developing and administering our series of “Get LinkedIn” webinars that taught Law School alumni how to take full advantage of LinkedIn’s resources.

And while in Atlanta, Ga., Cheryl Walker, associate director of news and communications, took the opportunity to connect with a reporter at CNN.

In all, seven staff members from Communications and External Relations, Alumni Services and the School of Law attended the annual symposium.

Mother, So Dear is turning 179

This week will mark the 179th birthday of Wake Forest.

On Monday, Feb. 3, 1834, Wake Forest Manual Labor Institute opened its doors and admitted its first student. In those early days, students were schooled in agriculture by day and the Baptist ministry by night. They forged the values – hard work, dedication to helping others, and following one’s true passion – which are still synonymous with Wake Forest to this day.

Celebrate at the events below and use #wfubday on social media to share your moments or your favorite Wake Forest memories. For more information, see the Alumni website.
