Triad Information Reading Service needs volunteers

The Triad Information Reading Service, which operates out of room 507 in the Benson Center, is in need of volunteers.

The service provides news and entertainment to blind and visually-impaired people via closed-circuit radio, and it also streams online. Its website is: http://tirs.ws

The service needs volunteers to read the local newspaper to our listening audience each day. Readers can either read in our main studio or via Skype. The local news is broadcast from 8-10 a.m. each day and 7-9 p.m. each evening. In addition, the news can be recorded during the day and uploaded to TIRS via the internet.

If you’d like to volunteer, get details on the website or call ext. 6011.
