Reynolds Gym

Wake Forest will celebrate the completion of the renovation and transformation of Reynolds Gym into a wellbeing center with a campus grand opening on March 28 from 4 to 6 p.m.  The celebration is open to students, faculty and staff to attend.

A new eight-lane indoor pool, replacing the original 1956 pool, will officially open for Wake Forest students, faculty and staff.  In addition, the Phase III renovations include group fitness studios, multipurpose spaces for intramural and club sports, and a varsity court for the volleyball team.

“Our vision for a residential community includes creating spaces that enhance all aspects of students’ wellbeing,” said Wake Forest President Nathan O. Hatch.

Hatch and Vice President for Campus Life Penny Rue are among those who will speak at the opening event.

Schedule of events include:

  • Kayaking and stand-up paddleboard demonstrations in the pool
  • Inner tube water polo
  • Water basketball
  • Cycle studio demonstrations
  • Boxing, rowing and other specialty studio demonstrations
  • Mind/body studio demonstrations
  • Group fitness classes
  • The official opening of lap swimming

Phase II opened in August with new state-of-the-art fitness equipment, a 3,000 square-foot open living room, a bouldering and climbing wall and fitness space for weight training and other activities.

Leadership gifts through the Wake Will Lead campaign helped make the Reynolds Gym transformation project possible.
