Army helicopters to land on Poteat Field as part of ROTC training exercise

Black Hawk helicopters on Poteat FieldOn Thursday, April 4, UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters will land on Wake Forest University’s Poteat Field as part of an ROTC training exercise.

The aircraft are scheduled to land around 3:15 p.m. and will transport ROTC cadets to Camp Butner Training Center for a joint field training exercise with other ROTC programs from North Carolina A&T and Appalachian State.

The training allows cadets from the “No Fear” battalion to learn about Army aviation operations and coordinate and plan with military units including the US Army Reserve aviation unit. The “No Fear” battalion includes ROTC cadets from Wake Forest, Winston-Salem State University and Salem College.

Faculty and staff invited to participate in search committee listening sessions

Wake Forest University faculty and staff are invited to participate in listening sessions on Thursday, March 28 or Thursday, April 4, focused on the search for the University’s next Vice Provost for Research, Scholarly Inquiry and Creative Activity.

There will be one virtual listening session and one in-person listening session to solicit thoughts on desired characteristics, outcomes, and priorities of this position.

10th annual 'Student & Organization Achievement Recognition (SOAR) Awards'

The Office of Student Engagement is seeking nominations for the 10th annual Student & Organization Achievement Recognition (SOAR) Awards.

These awards recognize the outstanding progress and accomplishments of our student leaders, student organizations, advisors, and more. We’re excited to bring fraternity & sorority awards back to campus this year as we celebrate a decade of recognizing our amazing students and organizations.

Deadline for nominations is Monday, March 25 at 11:59 p.m. Nominees and winners will be recognized at a celebration on Wed., April 24 at 5:30 p.m.
