It's 'Thank a Colleague' time
The “Thank a Colleague” program is a Center for the Advancement of Teaching initiative designed to allow faculty and staff to recognize their colleagues’ efforts and let them know they are making a difference.
Fill out this form and your note will be sent to the colleague you are thanking at the end of the semester.
The deadline to submit notes of gratitude May 10.

Wake Forest has been recertified as a Tree Campus Higher Education

A message from the Office of Sustainability
The Office of Sustainability is proud to share that Wake Forest has been (re)certified as a Tree Campus Higher Education by the Arbor Day Foundation for the 13th year in a row, thanks to the campus-wide efforts of our campus arborist, Jim Mussetter, the Facilities & Campus Services Landscaping team, the Campus Tree Advisory Committee, and many more dedicated colleagues.
Wake Forest was first recognized as a Tree Campus Higher Education (formerly, Tree Campus USA) in 2011, and has been awarded the designation each consecutive year since. We are proud to maintain a 1:1 tree replacement ratio when trees meet the end of their lifespan or need to be removed due to hazardous conditions.

Action required: New guidance issued for respiratory illnesses including COVID
Earlier this spring, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) issued new guidance to unify the approach to addressing risks from a range of common respiratory illnesses, which include COVID-19, flu, and Respiratory Syncytial virus or RSV. Due to decreased hospitalizations and deaths associated with COVID-19, it can now be prevented and treated similarly to flu and RSV. The CDC continues to encourage maintaining up-to-date vaccinations against these respiratory illnesses for everyone eligible to do so. Read more on the Campus Health website here.
Action is required by May 21 to comply with the COVID data retention and disposal requirement.

Wake Forest University commits to 100% renewable energy

Wake Forest University and eight other colleges and universities in North Carolina and Pennsylvania are joining forces to bring a large-scale solar facility online in western Kentucky. By collaborating on this Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), the schools are accessing the benefits of renewable energy through an arrangement typically only feasible for large customers.
