Wake Forest news for faculty and staff

Tree falls onto residence hall, no one injured

This announcement was emailed to students, faculty and staff on April 24 by Communications and External Relations:

Due to significant rainfall, a pine tree fell today onto the roof of Student Apartments Building B on Allen Easley Street.  No one was injured in the incident.

Tree branches damaged a small section of the building’s roof and one bedroom’s ceiling.  Residence Life and Housing staff are moving the two residents of the affected room to another room.  At this time, it appears no other rooms were impacted.

Facilities and Campus Services staff are inspecting the area around the building as a safety precaution.  Inspections will determine if damage is more extensive than it appears.

The building remains open for students.

Work is expected to be performed on power lines near the building.  Potentially, power will be out at that building and, perhaps, at others nearby when work is underway.  The University will announce by email any power outage.
