Residence hall renovation underway on Hearn Plaza

Renovation of Poteat Residence Hall is underway and will continue until Aug. 8.  It will reopen in time to receive residents for the fall semester.

Renovation of the adjacent Huffman Residence Hall is also underway and will continue until Dec. 1.  It will not be occupied by students during the fall semester. It will reopen in January 2017.

Work this summer on both residence halls will focus on the interiors.  Next summer, work will take place on the exteriors of the buildings, including landscaping.

The Poteat and Huffman renovations are part of a long-term initiative to renovate the residence halls on Hearn Plaza.  Last summer, Kitchin Residence Hall’s interior was renovated.  This summer, work is occurring on its exterior, including landscaping.

Interior improvements to those buildings include, in part, bathroom renovations, window replacement and mechanical upgrades.  Exterior improvements include, in part, gutter replacement, underground drainage improvements,

Parking Lot N and portions of Lot P will remain closed this summer during work on the residence halls.  Lot N will reopen before the fall semester begins. A portion of lot P will remain closed until October.
