Sanhueza highlights her work in Chile

Teresa SanhuezaDuring her recent leave, María Teresa Sanhueza, an associate professor of romance languages, was interviewed on the radio program “Aula de Letras” on the Radio Universidad de Concepción in Chile.

She talked extensively about her academic background and the project that brought her to Chile: A book-length manuscript on contemporary female playwrights from the Concepción region. The program is available on the web (click on Octoubre) »

She also presented a paper, “Stage directions on Saverio el cruel by Roberto Arlt,” at the VIII International Conference of Semiotics at the University of Bío-Bío in Chillán, Chile on Oct. 10. On the same day at the University of Bío-Bío, she presented her latest book: “Echoes and Trails of a Professor: Tribute to Mauricio Ostria González.” Sanhueza edited the book, which was funded by Wake Forest, The University of Concepción and The University of Antofagasta, and she also contributed an article: “The Feminine Subject: Image and Language in Chiloé, cielos cubiertos by María Asunción Requena.”

In addition, Sanhueza’s work on the Argentinean playwright Armando Discépolo was highlighted on the Argentinean Association of Research of Theater Studies (Asociación Argentina de Crítica e Investigación Teatral) website in “El rincón bibliográfico o la aventura de releer textos imprescindibles.” Read more here »
