Wake Forest and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center are once again cosponsoring a Habitat for Humanity house, and volunteers are needed to help build it. No experience is necessary!

There are two main options for volunteering:

  1. The Labor of Love Building “Blitz” (Wed., Aug. 28, through Sat., Aug. 31, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.): During the four-day blitz building event, the WFU/WFBMC house will be started  along with two other houses. The walls of all three houses will be raised concurrently at each location. Then, teams of volunteers will work on those houses during the event. Lunch is provided each day.
  2. Regular building schedule (Tues./Wed./Thur. and Sat., 8 a.m.-3 p.m.): This will start on Wednesday, Sept. 3 and continue until the house is finished.

Habitat can reserve dates for groups beginning with the Labor of Love event. Wake Forest hopes to have 20 volunteers each of the first four days. Working on a Habitat house together is a great bonding experience for your department or office, and you’ll be helping to make a dream come true for one of Habitat’s hard-working partner families.

We hope you’ll consider reserving a build date! Please let Debbie Cesta (Debbie.Cesta@habitatforsyth.org) from Habitat for Humanity know if you have any questions and if there’s a date that you would like to reserve.
