Graduate provides tribute to retiring Hale

Toby HaleDid you know that dean Toby A. Hale (’65, P ’03) is retiring at the end of the spring semester after more than 40 years of serving Wake Forest students?

Gavin P. Smith (’10) recently provided a tribute to Hale’s work on the Wake Forest Magazine website.

“When Dean Hale officially departs the college this summer, Wake will lose a significant piece of its heart and soul,” Smith said as part of a longer piece. “It is said that the best leaders are those who work quietly in the background and help inspire and develop leadership in others. My recent accomplishments are living proof of the quiet and deliberate work of Dean Toby A. Hale.”
